New Puppy Supply List
Has it been awhile since you’ve raised a puppy or is this your first puppy?
Look no further- this list (with links) will help prepare you for bringing your puppy home!
We find the majority of these supplies from TJ Maxx, Tuesday Mornings, Amazon, Target, and Chewy.com
Food
We feed the puppies PawTree food beginning at 3.5-4 weeks of age. It can be found at this link: https://pawtree.com//parksavenuegoldendoodles
We will recommend that you feed this to your puppy for its lifetime.
Velcro Puppy Harness
We buy velcro harnesses for the puppies until they are about 6-7 months old. Typically purchased at TJ Maxx or Target.
At their mature weight, we use the PetSafe Easy Walk Harness
Crate
We recommend the 36inch black wire dog crate. We order ours from Amazon. Order according to the full-size weight range stated by the breeder.
Toys
LOTS. OF. TOYS.
You truly cannot have too many toys for your puppy. We recommend at least 10 toys to start. Rotate the toys that you give to them daily so that they do not get bored with what they are playing with. Once you notice they seem bored with what they are playing with, it is time to switch up your toy selection. BarkBox subscriptions are great!
Puppy Pee Pads
We recommend these for the beginnings stages of crate training.
Collar
Collars are important to wear at all times with ID tags and Rabies Vaccination tags.
ID tags can be ordered online or made at your local pet store.
Crate Pad
Bed for their crate that is thin and easy to remove and wash.
Poop Bags & Holder For Leash
It is important to pickup after your dogs when out walking through other people’s property. Make it easy by attaching bags to your leash.
Food and Water Bowls
For daily meals.
Treats
Your dog doesn’t need fancy treats. Mini milk bones will do the trick. For the first month or so, a small piece of dog food will work for potty training.
Brush
Brushing your dogs with long coats is important to prevent matting.
Shampoo
If you like to bathe your puppy at home before they are eligible to be groomed, Burts Bees for Dogs is a great shampoo. Another alternative that we use in our home is Dawn Dish Soap. It is not recommended that you wash your puppy more than every 4-6 weeks.
DO NOT use HARTZ dog shampoo on any of your animals
